Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare

Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) is organized into 27 Divisions and with five attached offices and twenty-two subordinate offices which are spread across the country for coordination with state level agencies and implementation of Central Sector Schemes in their respective fields. The DA&FW aims towards enhancing productivity and production of agricultural commodities to ensure food security of the Nation and also to make agriculture a sustainable and viable vocation. The mission of DA&FW is to achieve targeted growth rate for agriculture sector with the help of State Governments and other Departments of the Government of India by enhancing agriculture production and ensuring farmers welfare by successful implementation of Ministry's schemes.

Department of Fertilizers

Department of Fertilizers comes under Ambit of Ministry of Chemical & Fertilizers which is headed by a cabinet Minister. The Primary objective of the Department of Fertilizers is to ensure the adequate and timely availability of the fertilizers at the affordable prices for maximizing agricultural production in the country C.Department of Rural Development: Department of Rural Development plays a pivotal role in the overall development strategy of the country. The vision and mission of the Ministry is sustainable and inclusive growth of rural India through a multipronged strategy for eradication of poverty by increasing livelihoods opportunities, providing social safety net and developing infrastructure for growth. This is expected to improve quality of life in rural India and to correct the developmental imbalances, aiming in the process, to reach out to most disadvantaged sections of the society.
